The Opportunity

As Leadership Director, you will oversee the planning and delivery of Camp Glenburn's Leadership Program. Reporting to the Camp Glenburn Director, you'll guide campers in setting goals, developing skills, and fostering teamwork. From leading backcountry expeditions to facilitating impactful training sessions for staff, you'll play a key role in creating a meaningful camp experience.

This seasonal salaried position runs from June 16 to August 22, 2025, with accommodations provided on-site. If you're passionate about youth development and love the outdoors, this is your chance to make a difference while working in a beautiful natural setting.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality programming for Leadership campers.
  • Organize and lead canoe or hiking expeditions, managing all logistics, including meal planning, transportation, camper medication, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain and oversee camping equipment and supplies, ensuring proper storage, inventory, and care.
  • Support counseling staff through training programs and serve as a role model for campers and staff in all aspects of camp life.
  • Ensure Camp Glenburn remains a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for campers, staff, and guests.
  • Assist with broader camp operations as needed and submit a final report summarizing program outcomes.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Ongoing or completed post-secondary education in a relevant field (Bachelor's Degree or Community College Diploma preferred).
  • Previous experience in camps or youth programs.
  • Wilderness First Aid training (or willingness to obtain).
  • Additional certifications are an asset: NLS, Waterfront, Canoe/Kayak, Pleasure Craft Operator.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility regarding working hours and site locations.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Employment is contingent upon a clean Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Social Development Clearance Check.
