Dispatchers are responsible for the daily management of coordinating deliveries in their area. This includes communicating and working with members of our fleet, sales team, and back-end operations team to provide exceptional service to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily via phone, radio, and emails with an assigned fleet of drivers to ensure proper load instructions are passed along and carried out.
  • Determines the most efficient delivery schedules, taking various factors such as driver availability, size of load, trip length, etc. into consideration.
  • Work with the sales team to coordinate customer's delivery requests.
  • Maintains regular and professional communication with the customer.
  • Plan loads/runs to ensure the best time efficiency and load factor.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance.
  • Assist other dispatch/shipping staff as required during spikes in workload.
  • Troubleshoot delivery problems.
  • Process paperwork according to company shipping procedures.

  • Manage multiple and changing priorities.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
  • High detail and well-organized.
  • Ability to multi-task and willingness to learn.
  • Work well with minimal supervision, under pressure, and within time constraints in a busy environment.
  • Excellent people skills.
