Who we're looking for:

Rogers is seeking an Equipment Engineering Specialist for our Wireline Network team. Reporting to the Manager of Inside Plan Engineering (IPE) for Wireline the candidate will be responsible for projects in a dynamic fast paced environment focused on network growth and technology advancement. He/she will be responsible to ensure successful delivery of network upgrades in the Atlantic Region. The successful candidate will work creatively, collaboratively, and analytically demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and delivery excellence.

What you'll do:

  • Preparation and updating all required project documentation
  • Preparation, assessment, update, and verification of CAD related documentation
  • Creating site specific rack elevations, detailed wiring diagrams, and cable run lists
  • Capacity assessment and augmentation planning
  • Compilation of material plans as part of detailed planning packages
  • Site review and assessment in preparation for detailed planning
  • Production of detailed design packages for efficient and accurate delivery of wireline projects
  • Tracking projects to ensure deliverables are on schedule and on budget
  • Providing project updates in various workflow tools and weekly project management meetings
  • Third party resource work coordination and management
  • Assurance of work standards and practices
  • Remain current with the latest company and industry technologies, policies, and standards
  • Adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations, in accordance with legislation and related Company policy


What you bring:

  • Electronics Engineering Technology diploma or associated degree
  • Knowledge of all CATV inside plant design and construction practices
  • Five years of CATV or related network industry experience preferably in a Headend environment
  • Understanding of all analog, digital and other network transport technology and systems
  • Extensive knowledge of WAN and LAN equipment specifically routers and switches
  • Knowledge of DC/AC Power systems, cooling, racking and associated hardware (cable trays, fiber trough, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and the associated software
  • Proficient with AutoCAD & Spatialnet software
  • Proficient with Remedy software
  • Familiar with standard Network hardware and interfaces
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
