As an Area Technical Manager will ensure our refinery maintains a safe and controlled work environment while conforming to regulatory requirements. Through effective communication, leadership, teamwork and knowledge of refinery processes, you will be accountable for providing guidelines and technical support to safely, reliably and efficiently operate the refinery. To be successful, an Area Technical Manager must fulfill several roles and responsibilities.

Your Responsibilities:
Participates in assessment of risks identified by various work processes and provides recommendations as required (asset integrity programs, PSM programs)
Communicates unmitigated risks and required resources to IOR leadership team
Ensures operating envelopes comply with all regulatory requirements
Acts as technical resource during emergency response activities in accordance with Emergency Response Plan
Actively supports the Management of Change process to ensure change does not cause unintended consequences
Supports opportunities for optimization of process operations
Collaborates with Area and Shift Teams to troubleshoot day to day operations
Supports medium and long term optimization through test run execution, end of life assessments, exchanger monitoring etc.
Identifies and or screens ideas for introduction into IOR sustaining capital program
Sponsors investigation and subsequent development of potential projects through approval/acceptance of design plans
Monitors all phases of sponsored capital projects with regard to schedule, budget etc. and communicates status as required
Drives Management of Change process and participates in PSSR with regard to capital projects
Supports post project audit to ensure goals are achieved
Participates in HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA
Manages variable cost budget for chemical and additives
Collaborates with other divisions within the supply side of our business (P&T for example)

Your Experience:
B.Sc. Engineering, Registered Professional Engineer in NB
Minimum 7 years of refinery experience
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
