As a Civil/Structural Field Engineer you will be the on-site representative at our refinery in Saint John, NB for the Civil/Structural/Architectural (CSA) Engineering Services Group. You will support the Project Execution Team throughout construction activities, investigate project issues, and recommend solutions. You will work closely with field coordinators and contractors to ensure construction is carried out per engineering work orders.

Your Responsibilities:
Review work orders for design specifications, material requirements and project data through the duration of projects to ensure quality and specification compliance
Provide technical input for project planning and scheduling
Identify risk elements that could negatively impact the budget or schedule
Ensure requests for information (RFI’s) and field change notice (FCN’s) are quickly addressed and closed
Work closely with Engineering Services and Contractors to resolve and/or mitigate design and constructability issues
Meet daily with Project Execution Group to stay up to date on project construction progress
Revise or generate excavation permits for any additional work.
Coordinate quality control activities with third party engineering
Ensure construction activities are performed safely while maintaining required quality
Reconcile punch items with field coordinators and contractors at the end of the project
Verify that civil/structural work is completed and adequately reviewed
Support turnaround engineering and maintenance engineering with civil/structural issues
Engineering Services CSA activities which can include producing Material Take Offs, Engineering Work Orders, Drawing Review, etc
Your Skills:
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Coordinating skills and ability to provide clear direction
Must be able to work with other department members to design and develop end solutions
Excellent analytical skills, quick learner, high level of independence and motivation, good presentation skills, attention to detail and accuracy
Your Experience:
B.Sc. in Civil Engineering
P.Eng. or eligible for P.Eng. status in NB
Preferably 5+ years of Civil/Structural Experience in Heavy Industrial Sector
