About Us

Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces and the New England region of the United States. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. In Bedford, Nova Scotia.

In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.

Job Summary

The Field Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that all quality standards and procedures are consistently met and aligned with company goals, customer specifications and industry standards. This position will manage the quality assurance of all projects in the field and ensure common, consistent quality control processes and procedures are followed. The Field Quality Control Manager will establish and maintain procedures and inspection processes to meet business requirements. The ideal candidate must be a problem solver with hands-on leadership skills who thrives in a fast-paced multi-project environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall Field Quality Control inspection team and oversee quality processes (visual, dimensional and document)
  • Create and maintain an effective field quality assurance plan that meets company and industry standards
  • Development and adherence of field / site quality testing and procedures
  • Reviewing and analyzing quality control field reports and implement corrective action procedures
  • Initiate and participate in quality investigations to support corrective actions and failure analysis
  • Travel throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia based on project needs to provide oversight to field inspectors
  • Planning and coordinating field testing of construction materials
  • Additional duties as assigned

Technical Requirements

  • Post secondary education
  • Civil engineering or technology is an asset
  • Prior experience in a quality assurance environment and/or within the construction field
  • Supervisory experience in the concrete / construction industry would be considered a strong asset
  • Fluent ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Knowledge of CSA, ASTM and DTI Standards

  • Willingness to travel to project construction sites as required
