As an Emergency Response & Safety Programs Manager you will be responsible for managing and administering Safety Program including Emergency Response, Personal and Process Safety. Your goal will be to provide structure, concept of operations, coordination with relevant stakeholders, and emergency measures to guide the actions of all personnel during everyday operation and through an actual or imminent emergency event across multiple jurisdictions ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies. Your success will be to have a thorough knowledge of the organization, operating areas, and business units, as well as their jurisdiction's regulatory requirements.

Your Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, administer, audit, evaluate and manage safety programs including, but not limited to, Emergency Response, Gas Detection, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, Lockout Tag Out, Hot Work, Illness and Injury Reporting, Risk and Hazard Elimination. These programs must be consistent with industry standards to ensure an effective safety program in compliance with required regulations
Develop, plan and oversee Emergency Response exercises/drills including operations, external stakeholders and emergency response organizations. Evaluate and document lessons learned from exercises, drills & incidents
Lead internal and external partners on emergency response programs. Facilitate and ensure the engagement of local responder and AHJs (Authority Having Jurisdiction) as they relate to emergency response
Coordinate with others to develop and implement mechanisms to ensure there are effective means of internal and external communications before, during and after an emergency event
Review documentation and coordinate updates to safety program instructions and emergency response plans as required by various regulations and best practices
Approve all safety and emergency response program training
Monitor and follow up on action items identified and assigned for all safety programs
Understand Operating Plan and executing a supporting EHS Strategic Operating Plan that focuses on the execution of critical EHS processes including but not limited to incident management, EHS training, reduction in RIF, spill and leak prevention, compliance etc
Lead EH&S projects within assigned area. Work collaboratively with business leaders and support resources to achieve goals; and, ensure clear understanding of the project(s) relationship to business strategy
Support the business lines in achieving EHS targets. Identify areas of concern and non-compliance and work with the business lines to address them
Work with corporate compliance team to ensure safety programs are compliant with all jurisdictional requirements

The ability to do quality research and to make firm data-based decisions and recommendations

Ability to support a 24/7 operation, as needed

Travel is a requirement for this position
Your Experience:
Post-secondary education in a related field is required. Degree in Engineering would be considered an asset
10+ years' experience within the petrochemical or environmental field required. Experience as an Emergency First Responder would be considered an asset
Professional Safety designation is an asset
