The New Brunswick museum is the oldest continuing museum in Canada, marked as a key cultural institution in New Brunswick. Originally constructed in 1929, the building continues to be a principal repository for the province's natural and human histories. This Revitalization project involves the construction of five new wings to the north section of the museum, and structural improvements to the east wing, to connect two previous facilities. The anticipated changes will improve access between interior and exterior public spaces.

Key features of the project include:

  • 115-seat auditorium
  • Multi-storey public great room
  • Rooftop terrace
  • Nine exhibiting galleries
  • Flexible spaces, designed for educational purposes, community events, etc.

You as a Project Manager will:

  • Provide overall construction management from pre-construction to completion including design, coordination, budget, and schedule in conjunction with the Superintendent.
  • Prepare tender packages and trade subcontracts.
  • Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for Owners, and ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings.
  • Meet with Owners and Architects in a professional manner, and communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company.
  • Monitor, interpret and forecast a project's cost reports ensuring they are in line with the estimate and maintain a positive cash flow.
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team's ongoing development and progression.
  • Submit project reports to Area Manager and communicate with management about project progress and areas of risk that need to be escalated.

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a construction related degree/diploma and five years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience in a Project Manager role in Institutional or Commercial construction.
  • You have a working knowledge of construction scopes and activities, scheduling, project management and contract software.
  • You can confidently mentor and delegate to a large team while developing and maintaining strong client relations.
  • CISD Level II (Secret) clearance or are eligibility to obtain is considered an asset.
