We are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer in the Corner Brook area, Newfoundland and Labrador to lead and oversee the planning, design, and execution of civil / municipal infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate must have a robust background in civil engineering, with a strong focus on municipal systems, and a proven track record of successful project management. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing community infrastructure and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

Duties:

  • Project Leadership: Lead the planning, site development, design, and implementation of municipal infrastructure projects, including roadways, drainage systems, water supply, and wastewater management.
  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Client Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies. Build and maintain strong relationships, addressing concerns and ensuring project requirements are met.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply advanced engineering principles to develop innovative solutions that address complex municipal challenges. Oversee the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with municipal, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices and standards.
  • Budget and Schedule Management: Develop and manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget constraints.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to maintain high standards of engineering excellence and project deliverables.
  • Sustainability Focus: Integrate sustainable design practices into projects, promoting environmental stewardship and long-term community benefits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license required.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in municipal engineering, with a demonstrated history of successful project management.
  • Proven expertise in designing and managing infrastructure projects such as roadways, stormwater systems, and utilities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, XPSWMM, PCSWMM).
  • A commitment to sustainability and innovative problem-solving.
