We are recruiting a Food Service and Facility Manager for our client site, the Iron Ore Company camp located in Labrador City, Labrador and Newfoundland. This position is responsible for scheduling and managing health and safety training for our camp food services and residential facilities, as well as managing a team of security officers, administration, housekeeping, maintenance, and kitchen staff. This position is important to ensure compliance and quality assurance aligns with Aramark and our client site policies. This is a Monday-Friday DAY Shift.
• Lead health and safety programs and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Manage employee safety and compliance records ensuring renewal dates are met
• Represent Aramark during inspections, address non-compliance, and maintain workplace injury files
• Hire, train, and supervise staff, providing coaching and performance assessments
• Delegate tasks and ensure timely completion of duties by camp staff
• Oversee maintenance procedures, repairs, and inventory management
• Conduct inspections of kitchen, dining halls, accommodations, and communal areas
• Chair the Occupational Health and Safety Committee
• Coordinate landscaping and out-of-scope maintenance tasks with the client
• Ensure superior guest services through effective supervision and resource allocation
• Develop budgets for safety equipment and manage financial information confidentially
• Participate in emergency response procedures and prepare improvement plans
• Previous experience in food service, food safety, general health and safety or security is an asset
• A valid driver’s license and own vehicle is required for occasional travel to other sites as required
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) is a necessity
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are critical to manage multiple files and incidents
• Knowledge and appreciation of security environments and the potential risks, threats, and actions to mitigate these
• Ability to quickly assess a situation and use appropriate actions to diffuse and provide effective solutions
• Ability to maintain a sense of calm and control in difficult situations minimizing panic in others
• Must have excellent communication and leadership skills to manage, coach and direction staff
