We are looking for a Manager, Asset Management to lead and manage the implementation of the asset management strategy at IOC.

Reporting to the General Manager Asset Management and working in an exciting and unique environment within the Iron Ore Company of Canada, you will:

  • Set role and capability requirements to meet the asset management strategic objectives and plans
  • Develop and deploy asset strategies, build systems to deliver, onboard teams and individuals
  • Contribute and align with the Rio Tinto asset management strategy
  • Develop asset management strategy for area of responsibility
  • Deploy the Rio Tinto established standards for asset management
  • Maintain typical/expectations regarding managing/developing/leading teams

What you'll bring

  • Post-secondary education in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering, or relevant trades background and experience
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in an operations, infrastructure, maintenance or asset management role with proven leadership experience
  • Knowledge and experience with asset management work related to Heavy Mining Equipment
  • An open mind and the ability to work with a naturally collaborative approach
  • Ability to lead a team and build trusting relationships

Where you'll be working

We are a leading North American producer and exporter of premium iron ore pellets and high-grade concentrate with average iron grades greater than 66%. With a team of over 2,700 employees, IOC is committed to providing value and continuity for our customers, employees, communities and shareholders through our unique mine to port approach, taking advantage of our full integration and wholly owned infrastructure to deliver our high-quality concentrate and pellets to our customers across the globe. ​

IOC's operations include a mine with five operational pits, a concentrator and a pelletizing plant located near Labrador City in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We also operate a wholly-owned 418 km railway, the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway (QNS&L), that links our Labrador operations to Company-owned port facilities in Sept-Iles. ​
