We are looking for Operator/Maintainers who can be highly motivated, adapt to changing situations and priorities, interact well with others and demonstrate the ability to both work independently and to contribute effectively within a team. The work schedule is a12-hour shift schedule with 7 on 7 off rotation (days and nights).

This is a great opportunity for a driven and safety-oriented individual to contribute to the IOC team. Applicants will be considered for Operator/Maintainer vacancies in the Load & Haul division of Mine Operations (Haul Truck Drivers).

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor and working in an exciting and unique environment within the Iron Ore Company of Canada, you will:

  • Work safely through appropriate behaviors and adherence to IOC safety standards.

  • Keep work area safe, clean and well maintained. Take timely action to correct unsafe work conditions in the work area.

  • Be responsible for the proper operation, maintenance, and control of equipment to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

  • Communicate all unresolved safety and process deficiencies to the supervisors involved.

  • Provide feedback to supervisors regarding equipment performance.

  • Maintain a continuous improvement focus by developing and participating in implementation of appropriate solutions to eliminate the issues/problems identified in the work area.

  • Challenge the way the work is done.

What you'll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team;

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license; other classes will be considered an asset; preference will be given to candidates with a Class 1 or 3 driver's license

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; or relevant post secondary training (i.e. Heavy Equipment Operator Course) or sufficient years of demonstrated relevant experience

  • Previous experience with heavy equipment or in an industrial environment will be considered an asset
