About the role

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.

We are looking for an Operations Centre Supervisor to identify full potential and improvement opportunities across the business. This position will work on a 7 on, 7 off roster with a 24-hour rotation. This role covers vacation relief and acts as a 'floater;' there is no designated shift, so flexibility is required.

The Supervisor provides operational leaders with value optimized plans that accurately reflect operational constraints, identify threats and opportunities and are effectively communicated at the right time with the right level of granularity to enable effective and efficient execution. They will lead projects and manage change (including cultural transformation, strategic change and commitment to continuous improvement) to drive effectiveness and efficiency across the business.

Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a huge amount of responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and keep your people safe and well.

With signature leadership training programmes, growing and developing is more than an opportunity - it is something we actively plan and make happen. Every day our leaders grow, while our rosters are designed to help you live the lifestyle that is right for you and your family.

Reporting to the Superintendent Operations Center and working in an exciting and unique environment within the Iron Ore Company of Canada, you will be:

  • Providing information and making decisions for day-to-day operational activities
  • Attending the Operations Center meetings to perform review of the previous 12 hour plan as inputs for the next 24 hour plan
  • Providing training and support for area supervisors to ensure that decisions taken provide the highest possible system value for the short term and following day.
  • Working in a highly technological environment.
  • Interacting with a variety of stakeholders of the value chain to gather and provide operational direction and support

  • Providing direction and priority setting task assignments to Operations teams
  • Part of the key team in the evolution of the operational model of IOC
  • Working collaboratively within the broader Operations Centre team
