DUTIES

Under general supervision, the successful applicant will perform skilled work in design, fabrication, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, certification, calibration, modification, and installation of electronic equipment and infrastructure throughout the University. Duties include repairing laboratory equipment; installing structured data network cabling and related infrastructure; fabricating/testing of custom research apparatus; testing and maintenance of safety systems such fume hoods or biological safety cabinets; assisting in the design, programming, and fabrication of custom micro-controller operated devices; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (3-5 years) at a skilled level in the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, testing, modification, and installation of electronic equipment; completion of a 3 year program in Electronics Technology; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Strong troubleshooting skills, a commitment to safe work practices, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients are essential. Experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, PLCs, or coding; as well as experience in a University, College, or Laboratory environment are assets.

SALARY $58,913 - $65,938 per annum (CUPE 1615)
