INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN APPRENTICE

Department of Facilities Management

(Contractual Position to March 31, 2026)

DUTIES

The successful applicant will perform tasks in accordance with standard trade practices in construction and industry in the installation, construction, modification, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures, indoors and outdoors. Duties include installing wiring and conduit for lighting and fire alarm systems; repairing and maintaining buildings and building systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards (i.e. building codes, accessibility codes and standards, fire codes, electrical codes, etc.); testing for, locating, and repairing electrical problems in circuits and equipment; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates must have completed pre-apprenticeship (entry-level) training at a recognized institution towards journeyperson certification in the electrical trade or have completed a three-year power and controls or instrumentation diploma. Candidates must be eligible to enter in the apprenticeship program under the Apprenticeship and Trades Certification Division. Possession of a valid driver's license and driver's abstract, as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, is required.

SALARY $21.40 - $ $29.63 per hour based on year of apprenticeship program

In accordance with NAPE 7801 collective agreement
