About this opportunity:

Cenovus is currently hiring a Senior Maintenance Planner to support its Atlantic operations. This position is primarily responsible for planning and leading maintenance activities related to assigned FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) systems. Working with the Maintenance Planning Manager, this individual will be responsible for assigning resources and materials to system work orders, responding to system technical requests, coordinating vendors for offshore third-party campaigns, handling material issues, and providing general maintenance assistance to support offshore activities. This role will also serve as a liaison with domain responsible engineers on the technical aspects of assigned systems.

This position is located at our St. John, NL office, and may require offshore travel periodically.

What you'll do:

  • Plan the maintenance work related to the assigned SeaRose FPSO systems i.e. main engine, essential generator, emergency generator, lifeboat, life raft, fire suppression and air compressor systems

  • Provide technical support to offshore personnel. Includes assisting offshore personnel with material and equipment selection, as well as play an active role in contractor meetings to ensure alignment around safety culture

  • Collaborate with vendors and external companies to ensure equipment is repaired according to Husky/industry standards and in a timely manner and assist procurement with material and equipment issues or questions

  • Act as the intermediary between the offshore maintenance team and original equipment manufacturers for equipment-related issues, as well as coordinating equipment backloads, onshore repairs, and vendor movements with the Maintenance Scheduler, Mechanical Coordinator, and senior maintenance Coordinator

  • Implement actions to optimize planning processes to improve performance and attain efficiency targets in areas of: equipment availability, utilization, and material consumption

  • Supervise and ensure that a high standard of data integrity is being entered in SAP and that work orders are closed accurately and efficiently

  • Conduct periodic audits of maintenance procedures and practices, coordinate outstanding work from vendor reports, handle third-party equipment on board the FPSO, and raise service requisitions to generate purchase orders for vendors and service contractor

  • Training as required by the CAPP Standard Practice for Training & Qualifications of Personnel, Transport Canada, other regulatory requirements, and company required training as per the approved Cenovus Training Matrix

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Hold a Technology diploma or Journeyman Certificate in one of the following fields: Mechanical, Instrumentation, Millwright, or Electrical

  • Background in maintenance management with an emphasis on planning, reliability, integrity, inventory management, repairs, and the ability to multitask

  • 8+ years of industry experience with experience in offshore operations being considered an asset

  • Professional Engineer Designation, Power Engineer certification, Journeyman Red Seal, Marine Engineer certification, Engineering degree, and Planning certificates are all considered assets

  • 5 years of maintenance planning experience as well as knowledge of diesel engines, fire suppression systems, and air compressors are all assets

This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to offshore pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments, which includes drug and alcohol screening, a CAPP medical and BST/HUEBA testing.

You must be able to travel via helicopter and boat. This position requires the successful candidate travel offshore, there you will be required to obtain and maintain medical clearance and obtain all required training necessary for offshore travel.
