We are looking for a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team. Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager you will join a team of solution-minded professionals at our Bridgewater location.
Key elements of this role include:
The successful candidate will join the Engineering Team of dedicated professionals, whose goal is to exceed our customer's expectations in delivering reliable and cost-effective energy and services. The Engineer will be responsible to:
- Review overhead and underground customer and capital design and provide support to planners as needed.
- Provide Technical Support for the operation and maintenance of NSPI's systems
- Develop and implement engineering analysis to ensure the safe and cost-effective provision of electrical service for customers and employees, by providing consistent analysis and interpretation of NSPI's Rates and Regulations.
- Operation of the Distribution system in accordance with NSPI's Engineering practices and Standard Protection Code.
- Perform project management of significant customer work and be available to assist with outage restoration and emergency storm response.
You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Full Member (or eligible for membership) with Engineers Nova Scotia
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in electric utility operations and electrical distribution systems and equipment is considered an asset.
