Your Contribution
As an Envioronmental Technician, you will work in collaboration with the Environmental Team.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Conduct field surveys and assessments for hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead, mould, and other environmental contaminants.
- Perform air quality testing, including sampling for mould, particulates, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and other indoor air pollutants.
- Collect and document samples from various materials and environments, ensuring accurate and compliant data collection.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed reports, including the interpretation of data and the recommendation of remedial actions.
- Operate and maintain a variety of testing and monitoring equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functioning.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements during all fieldwork and site visits.
- Collaborate with project managers and senior consultants to support environmental assessments and client projects.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, providing updates and responding to inquiries.
- Support emergency response activities related to hazardous material spills, leaks, or indoor air quality incidents.
- Perform Phased Environmental Site Assessments, including historical research, site inspections and soil and groundwater sampling programs;
- Preparation of field notes, data analysis and evaluation;
- Participate in technical report and proposal writing;
- Develop and maintain client relationships; and,
- Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules.
Your Profile
- College diploma in Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, or an environmental related field;
- 2 years experience as an environmental consultant in hazardous materials assessment and indoor air quality is an asset;
- Understanding of and/or ability to learn technical laboratory and field-testing procedures required;
- Working knowledge of both provincial and federal environmental regulations would be an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to complex topics and concepts, working independently and as part of a team;
- Ability to effectively and efficiently problem-solve, tackle new assignments and multi-task in a busy work environment;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to perform detailed analysis in various software programs;
- Possession of or eligibility to obtain Security Clearance;
- Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for health and safety.
