If we sound like a team you'd like to be a part of, and make a difference with, then we'd love to hear from you! We are looking for a qualified Senior WOME Certification Specialist for our Dartmouth, NS office.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate efforts to obtain WOME certification for combat systems and compartments within the vessel.
    • This includes reviewing, analyzing and reporting on the compartments such as magazines and ammunition lockers, equipment design, escalating issues to the certification team to achieve WOME certificates.
  • Provide WOME technical input to relevant working groups and integrated product teams in support of the development, documentation, evaluation and execution of deliverables related to WOME Certification.
    • This includes the Certification Plan and Certification Compliance Matrix for all associated ship compartments and systems.
  • Contribute to identifying hazards, assessing the associated risk, and providing mitigation through design or procedural changes to the WOME compartments and systems within the vessel.
  • Provide technical input to the Safety and Environmental Case body of evidence presented to the regulatory authority.

Qualifications

  • TQ6A or TQ6B (or equivalent) in Combat Systems from Canadian Navy or Diploma in Engineering Technology
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the following areas:
    • Weapon System Certification program of warships
    • Care and Custody of ammunitions and explosives
    • Test and Trials
