About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of the Combat System Technical Data Package (TDP) deliverables to the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) Warship Designer. They will have to coordinate complex technical information across a diverse set of teams. The candidate will require excellent planning, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

The role encompasses the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall TDP project and delivery execution
  • Lead a small team of ship integration engineers (2-5) to execute the full scope of TDP work
  • Plan, implement and status TDP tasking using Jira and industry standard Agile project management methods
  • Effectively manage processes that contribute to the development of TDP artifacts
  • Routinely liaise with all vendors to ensure relevant Subcontract Data Requirements Lists (SDRLs) documentation are compliant with requirements
  • Conduct, manage and close Vendor Furnished Information (VFI) reviews
  • Routinely meet with both the customer and subcontractors to ensure validity of TDP data
  • Provide routine metric and status updates
  • Identify and implement TDP process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure quality TDP products are developed and delivered.

What you bring to the role

  • Degree or diploma in electrical, mechanical engineering, naval architecture and/or combined Combat Systems Engineering experience
  • 5-8 years of professional experience
  • Experience with Agile methods
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Vendor management experience
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Strong communication skillsAbili
  • ty to prioritize competing demands.

Additional skills desired for the role

  • Experience in the military naval domain
  • Experience in systems engineering or system architecture within a defence context
  • Experience in ship platform and combat system design and integration
  • Experience with classification society rules/regulations
  • Familiarity with Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORSTM), Cameo, Clearcase, Clearquest, and Windchill
  • Experience with configuration management
  • Experience with Microsoft (MS) common office tools
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Ability to travel.
