About the role

The successful candidate will contribute to our Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships (AOPS) Canadian Coast Guard Vessel (CCGV) project as a member of our Test and Trials (T&T) Cross Product Team (CPT) as follows:

  • Support functional testing of the Science Management System (SMS) software (SW)
  • Support system integration testing leading to acceptance of the SMS SW
  • Support regression testing of science management SW
  • Develop test plans and procedures to verify software requirements in an Agile environment
  • Document results in the Lockheed Martin Canada inc. (Lockheed Martin) Test Management System
  • Document, assess, and test deficiencies using the Lockheed Martin defect tracking tool
  • Develop and execute Science Management and subsystem Harbour Acceptance Trials (HATs) and Sea Acceptance Trials (SATs)
  • Supporting the T&T Lead in the review of vendor documentation
  • Support the T&T Lead in all Verification & Validation (V&V) activities
  • Prepare and present iterative product demonstrations to stakeholders
  • Participate in user story and acceptance criteria discussions
  • Assist in the investigation and troubleshooting of hardware (HW) and SW systems.

What you bring to the role

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree/diploma from an accredited university/college in a Science Discipline
  • Able to support program schedule including evenings and weekend work as required
  • Have a high degree of initiative and autonomy
  • Aptitude for working well in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Able to obtain a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secret security clearance in a timely manner
  • Available for four months starting in May 2025.

Additional skills desired for the role

  • SW and/or HW test experience
  • General experience in the naval domain
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • Familiarity with Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
  • Experience with Redmine and the Agile Scrum methodology is considered an asset.
