P&H Milling

P&H is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chappati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions.

From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Acton, Hanover, and Cambridge, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries.

Your Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Office & Safety Administrator will mainly be responsible for overseeing the office and administrative service functions. This position will also support and coordinate the health and safety program, compliance, and objectives.

Day to Day

  • Provide administrative support to the local management team and employees.
  • Provide leadership and compliance in site safety processes and objectives.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Ensure accurate, timely and secure documentation and filing per auditing standards.
  • Assist with Human Resource administration.
  • Administer and maintain user and security access.
  • Coordinate staff recognition programs, communications, events, and supplies.
  • Procurement and management of office and facilities supplies.

Required Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in administration and/or Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant administrative experience supporting health & safety activities, and/or general office administration, or human resources environment.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead and positively influence peers.
  • Working knowledge of Federal H&S Legislation - CLC II and COHSR.
  • Proficient computer and systems skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with an organized work environment is considered an asset.
