Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic, experienced five-member legal team with the flexibility to work from any of our offices across Canada. You will report to the Senior Legal Counsel based in Montreal and work in English and French.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Organization of meetings and trips for the legal team and management of agendas, and calendars;
  • Drafting meeting minutes, and various legal correspondence, including resolutions and providing support for the company's companies' minute books;
  • Management of certain company mailboxes, including that of shareholders and professional licenses
  • Preparation of expense reports for legal counsels;
  • Organization and document management, management of contract templates and the legal services' internal website page;
  • Case law research, legislation or regulations, carry out due diligence searches in Lexis Nexis on subcontractors and partners;
  • Litigation support, including the receipt of proceedings or complaints, the search for project documentation, document transfer to external lawyers, and feeding our litigation manager, Legal Tracker;
  • Assist with corporate transactions and special projects as required.

What your experience looks like

  • You have a Paralegal Diploma, Administrative Certificate, or equivalent experience;
  • You have between 5 to 7 years of experience as an administrative assistant, preferably in the construction industry or in a professional engineering or architectural firm;
  • You are fluently bilingual in French and English;
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with lawyers and senior executives, you are detail oriented and have a good team spirit;
  • Highly organized, autonomous, and proactive with the ability to manage priorities and multiple matters all the while meeting deadlines and maintaining confidentiality
  • Computer literate with strong working knowledge of legal and standard software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat)
