Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Crane Operator.

Responsibilities

  • Operate mobile and overhead cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials
  • Perform pre-operational inspections, safety checks, test lifts and load chart calculations
  • Communicate with site leadership to determine the best placement of crane for planned lifts
  • Ensure that all rigging operations are carried out in a safe manner
  • Service the hoist and swing equipment used to move machinery, materials and other large objects.
  • Assist with the crane assembly onsite
  • Wear company issued coveralls and/or work wear, and all assigned Personal Protective Equipment
  • Work safely
  • You must be eligible to work in Canada to apply for this job
  • A pre-employment physical is required
  • A background check will be performed by the Company

Qualifications

  • Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
  • The following Trade Certifications are required:
  • Mobile Crane Operator with a Class 1 ticket
  • Overhead Traveling Crane Operator endorsement
  • High standard of integrity and professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being self-motivated to be able to work without supervision when required

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
