THE OPPORTUNITY
Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (“Triton”) is seeking highly motivated, talented, and enthusiastic intermediate level Wildlife Biologists, to join a well-established team of environmental professionals!
Triton is growing and has various office locations, that this role can be based out of, such as Vancouver BC, Kamloops BC, Vernon BC, Prince George BC, Terrace BC, Kitimat BC, Prince Rupert BC, Calgary & Edmonton AB, Saskatoon & Regina SK, Guelph ON, Halifax NS.

This position will appeal to individuals who have a passion for wildlife terrestrial biology related work, enjoy working outdoors, and thrive working in a dynamic and fast-paced consulting environment. This position will be responsible for providing wildlife specialist expertise to field staff and project management teams.
Responsibilities may slightly vary across various locations, but can include the following:
· Conducting wildlife surveys and monitoring procedures including breeding bird and herptile surveys, pre-disturbance nest surveys, nest monitoring, various sensitive species-specific surveys, construction mitigation for wildlife, bat surveys and monitoring, and herptile capture and relocation
· Providing technical wildlife support to collaborative project teams
· Manage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of works and deliver quality reports on schedule
· Liaise with on-site client representatives and contractors
· Provide quality and independent review for projects
· Provide an understanding of environmental Best Management Practices and advise clients accordingly
· Work collaboratively within the Triton corporate culture
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· B.Sc. or M.Sc. in biology or related field
· P Biol. or eligibility for registration is preferred.
· Having some experience with wildlife biology is preferred.
· Experience conducting a broad variety of wildlife scopes in pre-construction and construction settings
· Species at Risk experience an asset
· Strong Avian bird experience is considered a asset, especially for our Vancouver BC office location at this time.
· Familiarity with provincial and federal regulations and guidance materials
· Multi-jurisdictional knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and permit application processes
· For more senior level candidates, having strong technical writing, reporting, communication, and team leadership skills
· Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style
· Superior problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box
· Valid driver's license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting

SCHEDULE
This position will mostly entail working in the field and working a shift rotational schedule. Candidates must be able to travel and work remotely for extended periods of duration, staying in a mix of employer provided camp and/or hotel accommodations. The schedule could vary, as its based-on client project need requirements.
For more senior level candidates, there could be potential to do more office-based work, with less frequent travel. In addition, we are always on the lookout for more experienced professionals who enjoy project management and/or project coordination duties (these roles being mostly office based).
COMPENSATION
The average pay range for this position is: $30 dollars per hour - $42 dollars per hour.
Compensation is based on candidate experience, qualifications, and can be location specific.
Field staff positions are overtime eligible
