Job Summary & Key Responsibilities | BIOL 1020: Introductory Biology I - Summer 2025 The instructor is responsible for the administration and online delivery of BIOL 1020 (Introductory Biology I: Cells, Genetics, and Evolution) during the summer of 2025, including content introduction and review in the form of webcasts and/or posts to an online discussion board, assisting students on an individual basis via e-mail and web conferences, managing teaching assistants, administering on-campus examinations, and submitting grades. The instructor will be required to travel to the Truro campus to supervise exams during the term. The position reports to the Chair of the Department. Qualifications/Requirements of Position | The candidate should have a graduate degree or equivalent academic experience in Biology, and experience in the learning management system used at Dalhousie University (Brightspace) or be willing to attend training sessions prior to the start of the course. Candidates must have a strong background and interest in teaching, good communication skills, and ability to work as a team member. Additional training or experience in online learning and web technologies are assets. First time applicants must provide the names of two referees. |
