We are hiring solution-minded, dedicated and innovative Engineers to join our customer-focused team. In this role, you will drive projects that not only address emerging challenges in the electric industry but also enhance the customer experience. You will work closely with various teams to develop solutions that integrate renewable energy, improve grid reliability, and implement smart technologies—all while keeping our customers’ needs at the forefront.
Examples of the types of the projects this team have completed or currently managing; Smart Grid Nova Scotia, Rural EV Public Charging Network, Dynamic Voltage Restorer, Time Variable Pricing, and Telemetry. Looking ahead, we have exciting projects planned for 2025 in the areas of Demand Response, Grid edge, FLISR, and DERMS.

- Lead design and implementation of engineering solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and reliability of service.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate grid technologies, including battery energy storage systems and solar technologies, that benefit our customers.
- Utilize data analytics to identify trends and make data-driven recommendations that enhance the customer experience.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet budget, timeline, and quality requirements.
- Represent Nova cotia Power as a technical expert externally. Whether it be with customers, stakeholders, or industry partners.
- Participate in research and development projects focused on sustainable energy practices that directly benefit our customers.
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to propose innovative strategies that enhance customer engagement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety and satisfaction.
These skills will make you successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial preferred)
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Engineering roles with focus on electrification.
- Full membership (or eligible for membership) with Engineers Nova Scotia
- Proven experience in the electric utility sector or related industries, with a strong understanding of customer needs.
- Technical expert in Demand Response, Battery technology, Electric Vehicle Charging, OR Electrification of Buildings/Industry.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.
- Familiarity with smart grid technologies, renewable energy systems, and energy management practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams focused on customer outcomes.
- A commitment to sustainability and making a positive impact on our customer and in our communities.
You must possess a valid driver´s license.

Consideration will also be given to Engineer level candidates with 4+ years’ experience.
Assets:
- Knowledge and expertise in e-mobility (EVs, EV Chargers, Grid integration, fleet management, etc) is an asset. Please highlight and describe in application.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials.
- Experience in Contractor Management, including accountability for safety oversite for construction and operational activities.
- Regulated utility experience, energy modeling and/or GHG accounting certification(s).
- Experience in integrating software platforms, software development methodologies and tools.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
