Bedford Ready Mix has been in operation since 1985 and is a proud member of OSCO Concrete & Aggregates Limited. We perform a mix of residential work along with large-scale industrial/commercial projects. OSCO Concrete also operates a large fleet of concrete pumps, including the largest concrete boom pump east of Montreal.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Customer Service Representative is responsible for quality inbound customer service to ensure inquiries and sales order requests are properly received and all necessary details shared with the dispatch department to meet business needs. This position requires strong organization skills, control, and the ability to effectively multi-task, ensuring a positive and efficient customer service experience, leading to an overall smooth scheduling and dispatching process.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate processing of sales orders, quotes and general inquiries
  • Taking orders in a professional and friendly manner
  • Assist customer with product questions, ordering, order tracking, complaints and issues
  • Schedule delivery times and coordinate with customers and dispatch
  • Monitor progress of work to ensure schedules are being met
  • Constantly rework best fit scenario for scheduling
  • Verify accuracy of customer orders
  • Provide back up for dispatch as needed
  • Additional duties as required

Technical Requirements

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Familiarity with Halifax Regional Municipality roadways will be considered an asset
  • Solid computer skills and experience
  • Previous experience in the concrete, construction and/or trucking industry will be a definite asset

  • Strong attention to detail, with knack for anticipating conditions that may impact success
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to successfully manage changing schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

Cultural Requirements

  • Flexibility in work schedule (early mornings, days, late evenings) to meet the needs of the business
  • Ability to work comfortably within a high-output high-volume environment, working collaboratively with a diverse workforce
