Industrial Mechanic
** NEW POSITION - BASED OUT OF A NEW LOCATION IN MOUNT UNIACKE**
Atlas Structural Systems, a leading manufacturer of roof, wall and floor systems, is expanding to Mount Uniacke, NS. The new manufacturing plant will add capacity to the Nova Scotia market and reinforces the role Atlas plays in building more houses faster for Atlantic Canadian communities. The new location will serve as an off-site construction facility for prefabricated wall, floor and stair panels that are used to build more affordable homes and multi-family buildings.
Responsibilities
- Preform preventive maintenance inspections on all equipment.
- Maintain, repair, and assemble equipment and machinery.
- Trouble shoot and test mechanical equipment operation.
- Follow safety guidelines and policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Source and retrieve parts for work in progress or planned work orders.
- Communicate with coworkers, shift supervisors and managers on emergency or planned jobs.
- Communicate with tech support, as required, to resolve jobs.
- Participate on continuous improvement projects to increase reliability of the equipment and process.
- Participation in or conducting training on familiarity with equipment.
- Other general maintenance duties, such as building maintenance as required.
- Assists in production as part of recovery from downtime.
Qualifications
- Experience in mechanics, electrical and carpentry is preferred.
- Ability to identify and use basic hand/power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Willing and capable of completing necessary safety training (i.e., lockout, etc.)
- Capable of bending, lifting, and climbing stairs.
- Forklift experience with non-palletized loads is required.
