About Our Opportunity


As the Mechanic 3, you will be responsible for outfitting, repairs, and maintenance on Natural Resources & Renewables fleet of light duty vehicles and equipment (snowmobile, ATV's, UTV's, utility trailers, fire trucks as well as road vehicles). Vehicles/equipment must be safe, reliable, and available.


In this role you will report to the Fleet Service Coordinator.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Maintain, diagnose, and perform major and minor repairs on the departments fleet vehicles and light duty equipment.
  • Inspect, outfit, and commission new vehicles and equipment prior to releasing into the field.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of products, techniques and technology in a diagnostics and repair by participating in courses, demonstrations, and through reading materials such as trade journals
  • Provide feedback on a regular basis to the supervisor on the operational performance of the automotive shop.
  • Motor vehicle inspections.
  • Must maintain all required OH&S certifications as you must ensure a safe workplace and are responsible for your own safety and the safety of all others in the workplace.

Qualifications and Experience


This may be the right opportunity for you if you have a Red Seal in Automotive Service Technician.

The successful completion of training and knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, First Aid and WHMIS would also be considered assets. Must demonstrate oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

You have strong time management skills in order to plan, organize and prioritize tasks and reports within scheduled timelines.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Working Conditions


Most jobs to be done in a garage type repair shop.

Occasional work to be done roadside or at another depot, which could be indoor or outdoor.

Regular exposure to moderate amounts of noise in the garage, dirt, grease, and oil at most sites.

Additional Information

This is a TERM employment opportunity with an anticipated end date of November 28, 2025. The appointment status ('term', 'temporary' or 'casual') is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade: MOS 18

Salary Range: $2,277.39 - $2,350.02 Bi-Weekly
