Reporting to the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) & BioGas Facility Manager, the WWTP/Biogas Facility -Truck Driver will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, "Can Do" positive attitude & the ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic work environment. The Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting plant fry waste and Wastewater Treatment sludge waste according to established schedule, plant and grower requirements, and supervisor direction.

SHIFT: 2 days and 2 nights

HOURLY WAGE: 25.88/hr based on 42 hrs/week

Responsibilities

  • According to processing plant and WWTP requirements, drive tractor trailers to pick up plant fry waste and WWTP sludge waste and deliver to BioGas facility (approximately 16 - 24 loads/day).
  • According to Operator direction, transport fry waste to tarp building or farmers if BioGas facility is unable to take it. Responsible for operating farm tractor and Payloader to push fry waste into tarp building, and when removing fry waste from tarp building.
  • Miscellaneous tasks such as performing regular safety checks on trucks and trailers, sending trucks and trailers for repairs, ensuring truck fluids are filled, maintaining cleanliness of work area, delivering weigh slips to WWTP control room, and hosing down inside and outside of trucks and trailers as required.
  • Ensure that all equipment and machinery are operated according to safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition that meets all GMPs and the Irving Standards.
  • Keep the work area organized and free from clutter. Implement and follow procedures for the proper disposal of waste materials and maintain cleanliness in shared spaces
  • Adhere to scheduled timelines for pickups and deliveries, ensuring efficient and timely service.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a commercial driver's license - Class 1 A
  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to adhere to scheduled timelines for pickups and deliveries
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure that all pickups and deliveries are executed as scheduled, minimizing delays
  • Ability to quickly identify and address any issues that may arise during the pickup and delivery process
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with dispatch and customers regarding scheduled pickups and deliveries, providing timely updates and addressing any changes to the schedule
  • Proven track record of reliability and punctuality, demonstrating commitment to meeting established delivery schedules and maintaining high service standards
  • Understanding of the importance of safety protocols in transportation, ensuring that all pickups and deliveries are conducted in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Prior experience operating farm tractors is highly beneficial and will be considered a significant asset.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety by following established procedures and protocols
