Currently, we have an opening for an Apprentice Workshop Technician. The Apprentice Workshop Technician is responsible for troubleshooting as well as the repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical aspects of Sandvik equipment and components.

What you will be doing

  • Work from verbal/written instructions for routine workshop activities.
  • Assemble and transport materials handling equipment.
  • Assist with maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and parts.
  • May be assigned to specific trade area (e.g., mechanical) and carry out some routine aspects of the trade activity.
  • Apply basic knowledge of (part of) the service technician area, such as mechanics / materials.
  • Complete basic reports and/or documents of work completed, as required.
  • Communicate with the customer, where applicable.
  • Network and attend local training.
  • Learn how to prepare and execute all activities in line with SHEQ rules, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines, and promote awareness, including addressing anomalies to other.

What you will bring along

  • In possession of, or working towards a technical diploma (HD Mechanic or Electrical)
  • Related experience with industry-specific equipment is an asset
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to work shift work as required
  • Flexible, self-motivated with demonstrated initiative
  • Ability to develop knowledge of customer business processes in relation to product rebuild
  • Developed time management and organizational skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, Outlook)
