About the Job

As a Compost Labourer at our Walker Compost Facility location in Arthur, ON, you will assist with cleaning of equipment components, performing snow removal tasks, providing assistance with equipment fueling and assisting with the operation of the Gore Cover Compost System. This is a full-time position on the afternoon shift (Monday-Thursday, 3:30 pm-2 am), reporting to the Compost Shift Supervisor. The starting rate is $22.72/hour.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Cleanup of plastic and litter on and off site and disposing of waste in appropriate locations.
  • Cleanup of floor surfaces and areas inside buildings using a variety of hand tools (brooms/shovels ,etc.)
  • Assisting with cleaning of screening equipment mesh surfaces, following operating and safety procedures.
  • Assisting with Gore Cover System cover placement and securement as needed, flushing and cleaning of air channels when additional help is required.
  • Flushing water between Gore System rows using valved water manifold system on a daily basis during summer season.
  • Assisting with the organics receiving door process in communication with scale house attendant and equipment operator in receiving building.
  • Operating fuel pickup truck and trailer supplying fuel to various pieces of equipment.

Here's What You Need

  • Experience in agriculture, construction or outdoor labour is a strong asset.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good communication and teamwork.
  • Commitment to ensuring safe working conditions and environmental compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
