About the Job

We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our Walker Compost Facility location in Arthur, ON. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be servicing heavy equipment on regular intervals including preventative maintenance, performing hydraulic work and major mechanical repairs to the equipment, and ordering parts and documenting repairs as needed. This is a full time position, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Perform maintenance and complex repairs to equipment such as screeners, grinders, bulldozers and loaders.
  • Implement a preventative maintenance program on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and requirements.
  • Repair or replace defective components using hand and power tools.
  • Design, weld and manufacture custom parts when needed.
  • Exercise good judgement and discretion in prioritizing maintenance repairs.

Here's What You Need

  • Experience as a licensed heavy-duty equipment technician (421A).
  • Propane ticket is an asset.
  • Common core training is an asset.
  • Good communication and teamwork.
  • Strong commitment to established safety protocols
