You as a Food Nutrition Technologist you will:

Ensure the patients of patients receive meals appropriately tailored to their dietary requirements. This position works with the Clinical Staff to assist with nutritional issues and monitoring of nutrition care plans. Nutrition Technologist assists the Registered Dietitian to monitor and document appropriate nutrition care plans using goal-oriented standards of care.

Assist with Diet Office computer system as well as support the Registered Dietitian with menu item specific requests. Maintains the computerized nutritional profile for patients.

Maintain a knowledge level which supports competent professional evidence based.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an approved program in Food Services Supervision/Nutrition. Previous supervisory experience in unionized environment (1-3 years) Ability to fluently read, write and speak English or bachelor's degree with a major in Food and Nutrition or Applied Human Nutrition
  • Membership in Canadian Society of Nutrition managers or equivalent
  • Keyboarding, MS Office, Certification of Food Service Sanitation Standards. Ability to coach staff. Display good communication skills including tact, diplomacy, and courtesy.
  • One (1) year food services experience, preferably in a health care environment
  • Experience with Computrition or other similar Food Service Information System.
  • Knowledge of food service sanitation standards
  • Knowledge of Advanced Food Service Systems specifically out-sourced, cold plating and rethermalization technology
  • Ability to process information, organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision in a team environment.
