Job Summary

This position is responsible for a broad scope and encompasses a wide variety of activities in a multi-project environment. It requires frequent shifts in priorities, focus and detail. This is primarily a task-focused job, requiring an authoritative, directive style that encourages results-driven and task-oriented collaboration. As the Project Manager, the ideal candidate is confident, has initiative and the ability to make decisions and be accountable for those decisions. A well-suited candidate can react and adjust quickly to changing conditions and come up with practical ideas for dealing with them. This job requires self-assurance, competitive drive and relationship building skills. There is a consistent demand for high quality, organized and repeatable results. This position is located at the Brampton office and requires travel to PreCon plants in Brampton and Woodstock and job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization in a professional manner when in contact with clients and consultants
  • Act as the primary customer contact from contract award to project completion
  • Ensure that contractual terms, conditions, scope and schedules are maintained
  • Oversee client expectations for quality, safety, cost and schedule
  • Develop and maintain the precast concrete construction schedule in conformance with the customer's construction schedule and contractual obligations
  • Facilitate interdepartmental information flow and communication
  • Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration during project execution to optimize overall operational and financial performance
  • Oversee project estimated costs versus actual costs by reviewing the financial status of projects and identifying negative variances
  • Effectively utilize technology to optimize productivity and efficiency
  • Managing all aspect of assigned projects including change and risk management
  • Other duties as assigned

Technical Requirements

  • Civil engineering or a technical background with a minimum of three to five years' experience in Project Management
  • Previous construction project management or precast experience

Business Requirements

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills are required
  • Experience working with Microsoft Project would be a strong asset
  • Desire to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, multi-project and customer focused environment

Cultural Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and customers
