Your Opportunity

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Lead Food Service Attendants through daily tasks, supporting staff and visitors as needed
  • Prepare and serve food, following food handling and safety procedures; ensuring food safety protocols are followed by all staff
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment. Notify Supervisor/Coordinator if equipment is not functioning properly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized food service area, including stock room
  • Notify supervisor when additional inventory is required and assist Food Supervisor with daily/weekly inventory counts and receiving food & drink deliveries.
  • Greet customers and respond to requests in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Process payments following established cash handling procedures
  • Responsible for securing cash and floats at the start and end of every shift
  • Sell merchandise and related items
  • Assist with staff training both pre-season and in-season.
  • Communicate with senior staff and other departments at Conservation Halton as needed
  • Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals.
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the food industry is preferred. Interest in hospitality, restaurant, resort management is beneficial.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with both visitors and various levels of Conservation Halton Staff
  • Ability to manage and supervise multiple locations (west lodge/ east lodge) during a shift.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings, nights and holidays), depending on visitation levels
  • Previous experience in a leadership role is an asset
  • Previous point of sale and Clover device experience is an asset
  • Ability to travel to a site not serviced by public transportation
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Ability to move food and drinks to different locations as needed
  • Successful candidates are required to provide a Criminal Record Check (CRC), to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (if over 18 years old). *Cost covered by Conservation Halton up to $30.00.
  • Successful candidates must complete and/or provide a copy of Food Handler Certificate prior to first day of employment. Reimbursement provided.
  • Smart Serve Certificate is an asset
