Your Opportunity

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • With direction from the Department Supervisor, lead staff through daily shift tasks, some of which are repetitive in nature
  • Willing and able to demonstrate tasks to others
  • Completion of property maintenance tasks including snow removal, picking litter, and campsite maintenance
  • Completion of custodial tasks to include, cleaning washrooms, vault toilets, showers, and all other public use areas, dusting, disposal of sanitary products, washing walls/floors/windows
  • Willing and able to operate small equipment such as power washers, string trimmers, blowers
  • Collect and transport garbage and recyclable material for disposal/processing
  • Move supplies, picnic tables and equipment as directed
  • Support with setup, takedown and operation of special events and functions
  • Support with set up of seasonal operations
  • Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset
  • Ability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
  • Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Able work at any CH designated area as required and travel to a site not serviced by public transportation
  • Customer service mindset, ability to anticipate needs, with strong problem solving and decision-making skills in managing guest interactions and internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time, bend, stretch, and work from ladders or step stools
  • A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class "G", with a satisfactory Driver's Abstract is required. *Abstract completed by Conservation Halton.
  • Successful candidates must provide own CSA approved safety footwear prior to first day of employment *Partial reimbursement provided in accordance with the Safety Workwear policy.
