What You'll Do
In this role you will develop and maintain strategic working relationships with supply partners to improve, secure and meet internal/external client requirements

How you'll make an impact
  • Maintaining a professional, positive working relationship with suppliers and internal departments
  • Monitoring inventory levels to meet inventory turns objectives
  • Procure commodities as assigned to be available in time to meet the production schedule.
  • Analyze and maintain part order qualifier information in Epicor (ERP) as requirements change or at a minimum of once per year.
  • Manage all orders placed including expediting, price negotiation, sourcing, and transportation.
  • Assist with inventory reduction targets and initiatives.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Responsible for supplier on-time delivery performance and quality issues.
  • Work with engineering and materials management to identify supplier performance issues and recommending potential new suppliers.
  • Understand the role of the buyer in the Corrective Action (CAR) and Preventative Action (PAR) process.
What you'll bring to the role
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing
  • Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related field, or equivalent experience
  • MRO purchasing and inventory management
  • Experience with purchasing, negotiation, supplier selection, and sourcing.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of the facets of a manufacturing environment and the supply chains
  • Strong knowledge of LEAN principles
  • Facilitate and present to internal and external stakeholders
  • Capacity to engage with suppliers and build relationships to understand their unique challenges and create win-win partnerships
  • PMAC Certificate considered and/or SCMP Accreditations considered an asset
