Under general direction of the Program Director, the Business Coordinator (BC) provides business and administrative support to the Waste Management Campus team as appropriate. The BC must exhibit a great deal of initiative, be well organized in day-to-day activities, have the ability to prioritize a demanding workload, and is a team player with a service-oriented outlook.

What will you be doing!

  • General administration support to the Director, Managers and project staff.
    Compiling and analyzing spreadsheet data.
  • Assisting with the development of audits, and participating and/or conducting those audits.
  • Monitoring and reporting on program compliance and progress.
  • Preparing WM Campus, procurement and performance reports for management, to clearly articulate emerging issues and communicate planned courses of action.
  • Providing support and assistance to Control Account Managers (CAMS) to ensure effective and timely project execution.
  • Undertaking administration of various items on an as needed basis (e.g. Procurement (Make/Buy) & Contract Management).
  • Managing information and ensuring that accurate and sufficient documentation exists.
    Providing strategic support to department staff in development and implementation of processes, procedures, and working instruction to support operations and activities.
  • Interacting with a diverse group of CNL staff (i.e. Directors, Managers, Program Authorities, Program Managers and Project Managers).
  • Supporting management in leading annual operational planning including development of operational plans/planning documents and scorecards.
    Participating in the creation of processes for the Program.
  • Periodically reviewing requirements, processes and standards to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

What we are looking for :

Education

  • University Degree or Diploma from a recognized educational institute in Commerce or Business Administration combined with a minimum of 2 to 3 years' of related and progressive experience; or equivalent combination of formal training with a minimum of 5 years of related and progressive experience.

Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of ATOM and CNL’s document control processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of CNL facilities and compliance programs.
  • Experience in developing and writing business plans, reports, presentation packages, graphs, and briefing notes.
  • Experience working within CNLs Management System.
  • Experience with Electronics Data Management Systems.
  • Experience with facilities decommissioning and environmental remediation an asset.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Competence and successful experience in planning, auditing, procurement, and reporting within a team environment.
  • Candidates must have demonstrated experience in working with multi-disciplinary subjects/topics involving organizing, planning, coordinating, assessing, analyzing and presenting information and ideas.
  • Highly self-motivated and team player.
  • Comfortable performing duties based on broad general direction and minimal oversight and willing to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to work effectively with personnel of varying disciplines to supervise own team as well as manage relationships with other CNL Departments.
  • Ability to resolve complex/ sensitive/ more diverse issues within processes and procedures.
  • Greater judgment with some autonomy within the realm of processes/ procedures.
  • Ability to clarify/interpret issues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Computer literate in Oracle and the Microsoft suite of products.
  • Capable of working independently or in a team environment.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Respected and in good standing with their peers.
  • Self-starter, capable of working under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines.

Security Clearance Eligibility Required

Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
