Our Chalk River location is looking for a Driver Lead Hand to support the Supervisor in the Department. If you answered yes, then this may be the job for you!

What will you be doing!

  • Leading a group of employees in one or more classifications, and coordinating all phases of the work in the group.
  • Carrying out instructions from the Supervisor by directing the work of others and ensuring they are working efficiently.
  • Responsible for ensuring that those being supervised understand and follow all applicable rules and regulations, including work hours, plant safety and health rules, and procedures.
  • Seeing that good housekeeping is practiced in the working area.
  • Assisting in the training of apprentices or other employees as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • At least equal to the classification mainly concerned, but Secondary School preferred.
  • Experience
    • Must be fully qualified in the classification mainly concerned, and have some years of subsequent practical experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the work of the trade concerned.
    • Be skilled in the performance of the work of the trade mainly concerned.
    • Must possess the ability to interpret and follow instructions.
    • Have the ability to assign, supervise, and inspect the work of the trade concerned.
    • Possess a sense of responsibility and the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
