We are currently looking to hire a Chief Engineer to join our Maintenance Department. As the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair activities at our location, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment. Your expertise in engineering principles, project management, and team leadership will be crucial in maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability. #LI-Onsite #LI-TR1

What You'll Do

  • Operate and maintain plant equipment including boilers, water treatment, compressed air, wastewater treatment, refrigeration, and HVAC systems.
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and demand maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and identify improvement areas.
  • Conduct routine water analysis, repairs, and inspections as per TSSA regulations.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems for documentation and metrics.
  • Supervise and guide apprentices, "B" operators, and maintenance assistants.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards, including TSSA and OSHA.
  • Assist with managing preventative maintenance and efficient operation of the facility in coordination with the maintenance department.
  • Develop maintenance programs, work schedules, and maintain records.
  • Provide leadership, performance feedback, and training recommendations to staff.
  • Promote a positive team environment and high employee involvement.
  • Perform emergency duties as needed and maintain accurate logs of operations and safety activities.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies and adhere to all health, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 1st or 2nd Class Stationary Engineer Certificate (or willingness to obtain 1st class) and Refrigerator Operator Class "A" Certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a shift engineer in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong grasp of engineering principles, maintenance techniques, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in project management, with skills in planning, organizing, and executing maintenance projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a talent for motivating and developing a diverse team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on innovative solutions for maintenance challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and senior management.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and relevant software.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) are a plus.
