We are looking for a Site Foreman to join our Petrochemicals team in Cornwall, ON.

The Petrochemicals division is the starting point of BASF’s petrochemical based value chains throughout the regions. The division manufactures and markets a broad portfolio of high-quality basic chemicals and tailored specialties for internal and external customers.

The successful candidate will supervise unionized operators and material handlers engaged in production, receiving, distribution and minor maintenance. As Site Foreman, they will perform daily functions related to boiler house operations, lab duties related to quality control, biological effluent treatment, power plant water analysis and cooling tower water analysis.

As a Site Foreman, you create chemistry by...

  • Supervising the workload of unionized operators across three production plants, including tank farm operations, railcar movements, warehousing, general maintenance, and yard duties on a daily basis.
  • Acting as permit issuer for safe work permits for BASF and contractor personnel and oversee contractor performance with regards to safety.
  • Monitoring manufactured materials throughout various stages of production to assure the highest quality and maximize productivity.
  • Analyzing and releasing all shipped products to customers, ensuring the correct product, quantity, quality, and completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Ensuring adherence to policies and procedures in alignment with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and directing production adjustments during ongoing operations to uphold quality standards.
  • Overseeing the operation of gas-fired boilers and the Biological Effluent Treatment system, including routine testing and compliance with environmental regulations, as well as conducting safety tours and meetings to maintain safety equipment in proper working order.

If you have...

  • A three-year community college diploma or equivalent in technology or a related field.
  • Completion of supervisory training and technical knowledge related to laboratory and boiler functions.
  • A minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant work experience in a supervisory role.
  • Certification in WHMIS, First Aid, Forklift Training, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
  • Knowledge of Safe Work Permits and familiarity with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Understanding of the Ontario Health and Safety Act and proficiency in computer skills, including Windows, Excel, and SAP programs.
