Your Role

As Production Supervisor, you are responsible for the leadership and administration of plant operations; overseeing staffing, production scheduling, monitoring of raw ingredient inventory, quality of goods produced in the facility and timely manufacturing of finished product.

As key member of the plant management team, you are responsible for building and maintaining relationships with production employees and maintenance staff. You will also be accountable for supervising the Feed Assure™ and quality assurance programs, planned and preventative maintenance programs, and all Health & Safety initiatives within the facility.

Day to Day

  • Safety & Compliance: Train production staff on Health and Safety, Feed Safety, and regulations; ensure compliance with Feed Assure.
  • Staff Management: Assist with hiring, training, and scheduling for efficient production staffing (3 shifts, 7 days).
  • Production Oversight: Schedule runs, monitor performance, and track deviations per QA/QC policies.
  • Collaboration: Work with management on team-oriented approaches to customer service and quality; communicate regularly with the Plant Manager.
  • Inventory Coordination: Monitor raw ingredient inventory and coordinate production forecasting with Dispatch and Customer Service.
  • Maintenance & Quality: Prioritize repairs with maintenance teams; implement the corporate Quality Assurance program.
  • Health & Safety Committee: Act as management representative, schedule meetings, inspections, and training.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in relevant field or equivalent employment experience.
  • Availability for on call evenings and weekends depending on business needs.
  • Experience in Agriculture or Food Production would be considered an asset.
