Position Summary:

Bimbo Canada reaches 50,000 points of sale through various distribution models, including independently operated Direct to Store (DSD) routes, direct ship, third party distributors, cross-dock/customer warehouse, and others. The regional field sales teams are responsible for bringing our 'go to market' strategies to life ensuring that we deliver our products and services to the market in the most effective, profitable and efficient way possible while exceeding our customer expectations and achieves our business objectives. #LI-Onsite #LI-TN1

As the Director of Field Sales for Ontario, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing the regional sales execution strategy. You will be responsible for driving volume and revenue growth, expanding market share and optimizing the in-store presence of Bimbo Canada's beloved brands and products. Leading a high-performing sales team, you will collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic goals and deliver exceptional field execution.

This position demands a strong leader with a proven track record in customer sales, field sales, team management, and customer relationship development within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry. You will ensure our products are visible and well-executed in all of our retail environments, driving both short-term growth and long-term brand loyalty.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership & Strategy: Lead and execute the sales strategy for the Ontario region to meet and exceed revenue, distribution and profit targets. Ensure alignment with national goals and customer priorities.
  • Team Development & Management: Build, coach and lead a team of sales professionals to ensure maximum effectiveness and impact. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Ensure the team is well-equipped to execute sales strategies and deliver both team, and individual objectives.
  • Go to Market Execution: Develop and execute current and new distribution models to maximize distribution and volume growth in all channels. Lead the recruitment, development, coaching and engagement of our DSD Independent Distributors, ensuring they are aligned with company strategies and equipped with the tools and resources needed for success.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and nurture relationships with key retail partners and distributors across Ontario. Identify opportunities for growth and work closely with retailers to optimize product placement, pricing and promotional activities.
  • Execution Excellence: Oversee the execution of in-store programs, ensuring merchandising, promotions and sales initiatives are flawlessly implemented. Maximize Bimbo Canada's visibility and impact at the point of sale through effective use of resources and sales tools.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, supply chain, sales and operations teams to ensure timely execution of product launches, promotions and field initiatives. Collaborate on the development of sales tools, customer presentations and business cases for new opportunities.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage sales data, market insights, and competitive intelligence to make informed decisions and optimize the field sales strategy. Identify trends, areas of opportunity and potential risks to guide sales planning and execution.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Manage sales budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to drive the best returns. Track expenses and investments, ensuring accountability and alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Sales Technology & Reporting: Utilize sales technology platforms to track performance, streamline processes, and enhance the team's productivity. Provide regular reporting on sales results, forecasts, and key insights to senior leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in CPG, food, or retail.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing sales teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Ontario retail landscape and key sales channels (ie. grocery, convenience, mass merchandisers).
  • Strong strategic planning skills, with the ability to adapt strategies to evolving market conditions.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a strong focus on customer engagement.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze and interpret sales metrics to inform decision-making.
  • High level of comfort managing complex customer relationships and navigating dynamic business environments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Travel Regular local travel throughout Ontario

Minimum of 60% of time in a Bimbo Canada facility - Sales Center, Distribution Center, Corporate Office.

Occasional domestic and international travel

French language is a strong asset, not a must
