About the role:

The Maintenance Technician Level 1 role is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about hands-on work and eager to start or grow their career in building and equipment maintenance. Based in Etobicoke, this entry-level position plays a crucial part in ensuring the seamless operation of our facility and production processes.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, and assisting with repairs to maintain the safety and efficiency of our equipment and infrastructure. You'll have the opportunity to apply and expand your knowledge of building maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and small-scale repairs.

Working closely with Production Management and senior technicians, you'll receive guidance and mentorship to help develop your technical skills and industry expertise. This role is perfect for someone with a proactive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and ensure all equipment is operating efficiently.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and maintain accurate records of completed tasks.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and basic equipment adjustments.
  • Assist senior technicians with larger repair projects to learn best practices and procedures.
  • Support inventory management by organizing tools, supplies, and maintenance equipment.
  • Apply a basic understanding of building maintenance, including routine checks and small repairs to facility systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components.

Basic Requirements:

  • Own vehicle with a valid G license and insurance
  • Clean driver's abstract
  • Steel-toe shoes (mandatory)
  • Certificates and Licenses:
    • Working at Heights Certificate (an asset but not required)
    • Forklift Operator's Licence (an asset but not required)
  • Must be willing to work on-site at our Etobicoke facility
