JOB SUMMARY
Woodbine Entertainment, a global leader in horse racing and Canada’s largest racetrack operator is looking for a bold, ambitious, high-energy and talented Network Broadcast Producer to help us build a new brand of horse racing television viewing that will deliver compelling stories and drive wagering handle for our world class racing product and products from around the world.
This position, reporting to the Director of Broadcasting and as part of the broader Brand and Experience team, will lead Woodbine Entertainment’s new Network Broadcast Programming, developing live television shows to air across the country on Rogers Sportsnet. Your goal will be to think big and think bold, creating shows about horse racing that have never been experienced before and reposition horse racing to a new audience. You will also contribute to creating compelling content to air across multiple platforms including for our social media channels and digital properties. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of producing and executing live-event sports broadcasts from end-to-end and the instincts and ability to create and deliver subject matter that resonates with today’s sports betting fan. Consistently trying to connect with the audience in new and innovative ways, the ideal candidate will identify and execute stories, live content and information delivery methods appropriate for the target audience and provide must-watch programming. We’re looking for a bold thinker who challenges the status quo, has a passion for live sports, and has the skills to create content that engages our target audience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Coordinate and influence across cross-functional teams of senior commercial leaders
· Develop and execute live network broadcast productions end-to-end (world feed programming, in-house-produced Woodbine race productions for network, additional productions as required)
· Coordinate outside technical facilities providers and crew providers to execute large live-to-air productions
· Work within Woodbine’s existing control room infrastructure to develop and execute smaller programming (potentially operating some control equipment (while producing) in order to deliver smaller broadcasts)
· Design all elements of the network programming rundowns
· Work with the Broadcast team and Social & Content team to set the vision for all network broadcast storytelling assets (influencing the storytelling needed for the narrative of the network programs, working with editors and producers on creating compelling and targeted content, participate and drive pre and post-production for deliverable content)
· Work with the Graphic Design team on developing and executing high-impact graphic assets for all network broadcast programming
· Learn our internal simulcast productions to provide back-fill to simulcast producers as required

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Key Success Factors
· Post-secondary diploma or degree in Broadcasting or equivalent work-related experience
· 8-10 years producing live-event sports coverage
· Avid consumer of live sports content and sports betting content
· Advanced understanding of content creation and delivery for multiple channels (linear television, social media channels (X, Instagram, Facebook) digital channels (YouTube)
· Advanced communication and organizational skills, combined with the ability to work both independently and as part of a large team
· Advanced understanding of live television technology/operation is required to understand how to get all elements of live programming to air
· Creative, out-of-the-box thinker
· Thrives in a collaborative environment
· Experience leading both creative and technical teams to deliver live-to-air content
· Strong leader who is not afraid to take control when necessary, while balancing team relationships in order to deliver large amounts of content, sometimes with limited resources
· Advanced ability to problem solve on-the-fly
· Thrives in stressful situations in order to keep team members on track and the production flowing seamlessly
Education and Experience
· Post-secondary diploma or degree in broadcasting or related field, and/or related work experience.
· 8-10 years producing live event sports coverage
