As Project Manager - Project Development, Power & Utilities, in this project leadership role you will play a pivotal part in the development, interconnection and implementation of T&D, grid-modernization and storage and renewables storage across Ontario and rest of Canada.

Job Description:

As the Project Manager - Project Development, Power & Utilities, you will manage delivery of strategic FEED projects and oversee initial engineering phases of T&D, storage and renewables projects. This role requires a blend of project leadership, management skills, and knowledge of the power sector. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project feasibility studies and other early-stage engineering mandates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage successful delivery of transmission, distribution, storage and renewables engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with T&D customers, independent power producers (IPPs), generation developers, power utilities and regulatory bodies to build strong technical solutions and foster long-term relationships.
  • Manage delivery of FEED studies focusing on value engineering, cost optimization and meeting project's technical performance objectives.
  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
  • Support responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs), bringing creative ideas and strategic approaches to project development.
  • Help ensure projects meet key performance indicators, including cost, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, clients and permitting bodies.
  • Assist with other useful duties as required.

Overview of certifications and job requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with focus on electrical/ mechanical engineering/ power disciplines OR suitable demonstrated experience working in the power sector.
  • Project Engineering/ Project Management experience in power/ infrastructure industries. PMP certification or ongoing commitment to PMP will be an asset.
  • 10+ years of experience in power/ infrastructure sectors, renewables, energy consulting, or related engineering projects.
  • Experience in power system planning, generation development, studies and related software is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, codes, standards and best-practices pertinent to renewables and T&D projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work setting.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and French) is an asset.
