Overseeing both large-scale (above $1M) and/or program management of operational (OPEX) and capital (CAPEX)projects that are complex/ multiyear in nature and require substantial stakeholder involvement from initiation to close-outs, including the execution of project charters, formulation of project scopes, procurement activities, collaboration with stakeholders, design review, monitoring and controlling the construction phase, and project closeout. Experience and in-depth knowledge of the work tools and applied Project Management methodologies is required.

The Senior Project Manager must consistently demonstrate strategic vision, fostering innovation in program management, and cultivate a collaborative and adaptive culture, requiring ongoing creative problem-solving and leadership development efforts to address complex organizational challenges. The frequency for these requirements is continual, as senior project managers regularly navigate strategic decisions, program complexities, and stakeholder engagement, demanding a sustained commitment to creative and innovative approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple projects or a program of projects, ensuring coordination and alignment between different initiatives
  • Manage dependencies and interdependencies among projects within a program
  • Contribute to the development and alignment of project initiatives with the organization's strategic goals
  • Provide strategic insights and guidance to project teams, ensuring that projects align with broader business objectives
  • Engage with high-level stakeholders, including executives and senior management
  • Communicate program status, issues, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project managers and project teams
  • Share industry best practices and guide the professional development of team members
  • Take a lead role in identifying, analyzing, and managing risks at a programmatic level
  • Make strategic decisions to mitigate risks

Qualifications

  • A university degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or project management
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience is required.
  • Advanced proficiency with full Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project
  • Advanced knowledge of adobe acrobat and Bluebeam
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to develop drawings in AutoCAD and Revit is an asset
  • Holding at least one of the PEng., PMP, OAA, certification would be required.
  • Excellent written/ verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong negotiating and interpersonal skills.
