Engineering Clerk

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Completion of secondary school or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Familiar with prints and print management. Read employees' schedules and time sheets and obtain information from graphs or charts presenting sales, registrations or other data.
• Plan and prioritize job tasks, and follow established procedures and directives closely. Respond to urgent requests in a timely fashion while ensuring tasks are completed by specified times.
• Ability to estimate inventory and supplies on hand.
• Ability to work in a team environment to work jointly with a partner or helper as needed for various purposes, including inventory counts.
• Ability to work in fully computerized work environment with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and AutoCAD. Solid works an asset. Knowledge of QS 9000/TS16949 and/or automotive manufacturing documentation is an asset. Auditors Training (Lead Auditor), PPAP, FMEA, 8D, APQP.
• Receive training on the use of new software as it is added to the work environment. On-going training to improve in areas such as time management and specific job skill upgrading may be required.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Release engineering changes initiated by the engineering department.
• Purge master file of old information if required by the engineering release
• Archive obsolete files and enter in archive log book.
• Maintain engineering section of the Technical Base binders
• Perform drawing revision control by monitoring drawing and documentation revision levels against process master and revision level required by production, and highlighting discrepancies to the appropriate personnel
• Stamp all documents.
• Maintain the master listing of quotations in the computer database and the master quotation files
• Fill production folders with all appropriate documentation for each required operation. This information may be copied from the master files or be generated as required from the computer network system.
• Initiate, file and distribute all engineering documentation using word processing software and/or computerized systems.
• Monitor and control master numbering system and all engineering numbering systems.
• Receive requests for information from clients and instructions from co-workers and supervisors. Attend and present information at staff meetings as required.
• Populate spreadsheets, data bases, forms and other necessary documents for different applications.
• Perform other clerical functions as time and resources permit for other departments.
